Do the Right Thing!

2 Thessalonians 3:13

Brothers and sisters, do not be weary in doing what is right.

INSPIRATION

Cheating may seem like the easier approach to getting something done, but ultimately, if it isn't done right the first time around, you will spend more time putting it back together. Doing things right all the time only requires discipline and if you begin a consistent pattern of doing things the right way, it then becomes your characteristic that others can admire. Today, do the right thing!

I Need Your Help!

Philippians 2:3-4

Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves. Each of you should look not only to your own interests, but also to the interests of others.

INSPIRATION

Pride makes you think you don't need anyone. Working with the idea of, Big "I's" and little "U's" never provides the opportunity for growth. In fact, it has the potential of setting you back even further away from your goal. If you want to succeed, you have to be willing to look at everyone as someone you need to survive. Today, surprise yourself and tell somebody, "In order for me to get this job done, I need your help." This one statement, lifts up somebody, gets your job done faster and creates a healthier working environment. Try it today!

The Chosen List

John 15:16

[Jesus says], "You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you to go and bear fruit -- fruit that will last."

INSPIRATION

There's probably nothing worse than not being picked or being the last one picked by someone else. I can remember in grade school, during recess, no one ever wanted to be the last one picked for the kickball team because that usually meant you had very little to offer to the team. Well, the good news about how God chooses us is that He already knows you'll be great from the onset; all you have to do is keep contributing to the teams' common goal. Today, don't worry about who hasn't chosen you; you're already on the greatest chosen list!

Prosperity for all My Friends

John 15:15

[Jesus says,] "I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master's business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you."

INSPIRATION

Sometimes, when we have obtained a level of success, we tend to not share the details of how we got there with others. Well, because Jesus calls us his friend, everything God taught Him, he taught us so that we would be prepared to handle all good days and not so good days in our lives as it pertains to living in prosperity. If we really want success for one another, we have to start looking at each other as friends. Let's teach one another how to get ahead and stay ahead so that prosperity becomes the rule and not the exception in all of our communities.

Today, Have Faith!

Matthew 9:22

Jesus turned and saw her. "Take heart, daughter," he said, "your faith has healed you." And the woman was healed from that moment.

INSPIRATION

Faith reminds us that Jesus remains in the healing business. Needing to be healed isn't always for when you're sick. There are times when you just need everything around you to feel better than it did yesterday and the only way that can happen is to take hold of your heart and have faith! Today, have faith that the problems of yesterday will seem easier to deal with tomorrow.

Success On The Horizon

Matthew 25:23

[Jesus says,] "His master replied, 'Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master's happiness!'"

INSPIRATION

In the work field, it's important to close the big deal, create the big concept or even deliver the big event. But, in God's eyes, the little things we do mean more to Him than all those big ideas. Remaining faithful with little tasks, prepares us for the bigger tasks we cannot see yet. While the little tedious assignments are nerve wrecking and almost seem ridiculous to have to do, look at them as stepping stones towards your bigger goal. If you don't give up now, you'll see success on the horizon.

You’re Full Of It

Romans 15:13

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.

INSPIRATION

When I often hear the phrase, "That person is full of it" I usually respond with, "Full of what?" We allow ourselves to get filled up with some much unnecessary stuff that usually makes a small task like smiling seem very hard to do. Well, let's try flipping the script by filling our minds, our spirits and our souls with the hope that God, even on our heavy days, will give us the spirit to smile. It may be a hard task, but smiling encourages your faith and trust in God which will lead you to peace. Now ask yourself, "What are you full of?"

Who Are We To Pass Judgement?

Romans 14:13

Therefore let us stop passing judgment on one another. Instead, make up your mind not to put any stumbling block or obstacle in your brother's way.

INSPIRATION

Sometimes, passing judgment on other people is easy to do because for just one moment, it makes you feel superior over someone else. At the same time, it also doesn't help either of you in obtaining more blessings from God. Today, instead of passing judgment, pass a word of encouragement…it will go a long way!

Piecing It All Together

Ecclesiastes 4:9-10

Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their work; If one falls down, his friend can help him up. But pity the man who falls and has no one to help him up!

INSPIRATION

Having a 2nd opinion on situations clears all doubt. Yes, you may think you know it all, but God has also equipped someone else in that same area to perhaps help you obtain your goal even quicker. Today, when approached with an opinion, receive it as advice. It may be the piece of the puzzle you've been trying to find all along.

It Is Unfortunate But Necessary To “Go Through”

1 Peter 4:12-13

Dear friends, do not be surprised at the painful trial you are suffering, as though something strange were happening to you. But rejoice that you participate in the sufferings of Christ, so that you may be overjoyed when his glory is revealed.

INSPIRATION

Sometimes, the stress, the pains, and even the sufferings in life can make you feel like you must be the only one that is "going through" right now. Well rest assured you are not alone! Just as Christ suffered, so must we; however, the key to overcoming suffering is never forgetting that He is always with you! No, every day isn't always going to be perfect. The birds are not going to always sing, the flowers aren't going to always bloom, and unfortunately, the sun can't shine every day. But, if you remember who kept you from losing your mind on those most difficult days, you'll have an automatic appreciation of knowing that if you don't give up on God while you're walking into your purpose, you will get the victory!

Can I Get Some Peace?

John 16:33

"I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world."

INSPIRATION

Before any situation gets out of hand, God already planted the seed to make you remember that He's bigger than its outcome. Today, know that the stresses of life do not have to become monsters in your life because the peace in Christ is also in you; and as long as you can tap into His peace, you can overtake whatever is tearing down your spirit.

There’s Nothing Wrong With Having Money

Deuteronomy 8:18

But remember the Lord your God, for it is he who gives you the ability to produce wealth, and so confirms his covenant, which he swore to your forefathers, as it is today.

INSPIRATION

The love of money is evil and can throw your vision in the wrong direction, but money itself or rather the management of money is dependent on you. You have to believe that God wants you to prosper. Your skills, your talents and even that good hustle you have on the side are all part of His plan to help you produce wealth. Don't be misled that you don't need money to live; you just don't need to fall in love with it to succeed. Remember, God wants you to prosper in all that you do to live a healthy life spiritually, physically, AND financially.

He Already Knew Today Would Be Your Birthday

Jeremiah 1:5

[God says,] "Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations."

INSPIRATION

Don't be surprised that who you said you were going to be when you grew up is a different person now. This change occurs because God had a different plan before you were born. His plan of setting you apart from ordinary to extraordinary begins when you surrender everything to Him and allow Him to direct your path. Sure, the dream has been altered a little, but if you look back on how far you've come, aren't you glad He changed your course?

When I Was A Child…

Titus 2:1

You must teach what is in accord with sound doctrine.

INSPIRATION

When we were taught the "Lord's Prayer" or "The Ten Commandments" or even "The Apostle's Creed," in Sunday School, they weren't taught to us for us to just memorize and not apply them. These beliefs that we recite are the law and provide discipline to our daily lives. Now that we are adults, we must apply God's law and stick to it to create a barrier that the enemy cannot penetrate. Sticking to sound doctrine leads to a well disciplined lifestyle.

Praise Is What I Choose!

Psalm 71:8

My mouth is filled with your praise, declaring your splendor all day long.

INSPIRATION

Does complaining turn the problem around? Does it make you feel better? Does it brighten your day? Your answer should be no. How you speak about your circumstances determines its outcome. Your choice is to either have a pity party or a praise party. When you start praising God more for just what He has already done in your life, you will no longer see the need to R.S.V.P. to a pity party. Today, give Him the praise!

Decisions, Decisions!

Jeremiah 6:16

This is what the LORD says: "Stand at the crossroads and look; ask for the ancient paths, ask where the good way is, and walk in it, and you will find rest for your souls."

INSPIRATION

Decisions, decisions; we make them every day. Some are easy to make, others not so easy. Well, the key to making good decisions is to not make them too quickly. Take the time to compare and contrast all possibilities. Whichever direction appears to have your best interest is usually the direction where you find peace. Today, talk your decisions through and walk towards that goal.

In God We Trust

Proverbs 3:5-6

Trust in the LORD with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will direct your paths.

INSPIRATION

Trusting comes with believing. If you believe God's word, then you also trust His word will guide all your decisions. Today, trust that He is your loan officer, your dean of admissions, your class instructor, your auto mechanic, and even your employer. Trust that if your day is anchored in the Lord, He will be with you.

Look At What He’s Already Done!

1 Chronicles 16:11-12

Look to the LORD and his strength; seek his face always. Remember the wonders he has done, his miracles, and the judgments he pronounced.

INSPIRATION

Just at the moment when you think you need to stop working at something, stop yourself and talk to God! He has already made so many miracles and wonders happen in your life, so even at this moment, He can strengthen you to fulfill your goal. Tell God you want to succeed, stay committed to your request to Him and He will strengthen you every day until the job is done.

Survival of the Fittest

Matthew 7:24-25

"Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock."

INSPIRATION

Survival is dependent on how you started the course. If you want to go far and be successful, you have to start making smart decisions from the beginning. These decisions will create your foundation and your foundation will never move as long as you remain faithful to God and encouraged in the course He has designed for you. Today, stand firm on the rock!

Action Speaks Louder Than Words

1 John 3:18

Dear children, let us not love with words or tongue but with actions and in truth.

INSPIRATION

When we make promises or statements to people, at that moment they are merely words. When we add action to these statements, the truth is revealed. If you are the person who likes to say, "I'll stop by, I'll call you later, or "Sure, we'll hang out soon," and never do it, people will begin to think you are phony. Today, don't just say the words; mean what you say and follow it with action. Remember, action speaks louder than words.
