Done With Yesterday!

Trouble Makers Never Win

2 Corinthians 10:5

We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.

INSPIRATION

Let's face it, trouble makers will always exist. They have it made up in their minds to never get along, to always stir up drama, and to keep others from rising. The good news is that they do not have the majority vote on their side, which is Christ Jesus. When those who are on the Lord's side realize they already have the victory, then we can stand stronger together to demolish anything that is trying to hinder forward movement. Today, when you hear negativity shut it down and remind them that unconstructive conversation will get you nowhere.

The Trust Factor

Proverbs 3:5-6

Trust in the LORD with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will direct your paths.

INSPIRATION

Trusting comes with believing. If you believe God's word, then you also trust His word will guide all your decisions. Today, trust that He is your loan officer, your dean of admissions, your class instructor, your auto mechanic, and even your employer. Trust that if your day is anchored in the Lord, He will be with you.

Amazing Grace

Luke 2:18-19

And all who heard it were amazed at what the shepherds said to them. But Mary treasured up all these things and pondered them in her heart.

INSPIRATION

Amazement is usually the result of being surprised by something. And, your surprise is usually the result of seeing something happen that you never thought would happen. When you share your amazing news, don't be surprised of how fast the word gets out and how happy others will be for you. Remember to treasure those amazing moments, keep a humble heart and always remember to give thanks for His Amazing Grace!!

Let Go and Let God!

Ephesians 6:12

Our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.

INSPIRATION

The adversary loves it when God's children are not getting along. Disagreements will occur, but holding a grudge is not of God. Today, do not allow the spirit of anger, rage or irritations prohibit you from showing patience, humility or love to those in your life.

Waiting and Listening

Isaiah 26:8

Yes, LORD, walking in the way of your laws, we wait for you; your name and renown are the desire of our hearts.

INSPIRATION

When we walk God's way, we learn to wait on His direction for our next turn. When we walk according to our own terms, we forget to listen for God. Allow your heart, mind and spirit to always be led by God and He will always direct your path.

Remember The Sabbath

Exodus 20:8

Remember the Sabbath day, and keep it Holy.

INSPIRATION

We are given 7 days in a week. God only wants us to put one day aside to honor Him. When we remember the Sabbath, we are remembering all of the grace and favor we received the days before and more importantly, who we received it from. This Sabbath, remember how good God has been all week to you and keep the Sabbath Holy.

Working For Your Harvest

Galatians 6:9

Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.

INSPIRATION

Never feel like you're being taken advantage of when you're doing something good. Sure, you may not get thanked, recognized or even acknowledged; but, as long as you are working from your heart, God will always notice you. Today, don't work for the "thank you," work for your harvest.

Say What You Mean

James 1:22
Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says.

INSPIRATON
Our talk must be backed up with action. If we truly want people to see us being more loving, giving, and dependable, we can’t just use the words, we must be examples of those words by our actions. Remember, not only are people watching us, but so is God. Let Him see what we say we are.

Walking Over Frustration

1 Peter 4:12-13

Dear friends, do not be surprised at the painful trial you are suffering, as though something strange were happening to you. But rejoice that you participate in the sufferings of Christ, so that you may be overjoyed when his glory is revealed.

INSPIRATION

It would be nice if every day was filled with sunshine, blooming flowers, always hearing a "yes" to your needs, but it wouldn't be reality. It is important to understand that pain and suffering isn't new, but your approach to how you handle these times will determine how you walk through it. From now on, try not to concentrate on where you are and what you're trying to get through, but know that these days are only stepping stones to make your walk stronger for your victory lap. Today, don't give into your frustrations; walk over them realizing the victory is only a few more steps ahead.

No Bully Formed Against Me Shall Prosper

Matthew 9:36

When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd.

INSPIRATION

Statistics are showing an alarming increase of school bullying beginning as early as the 3rd grade. Because we are not with our children during school, means that at home, we must assure them of who is always protecting them. We can fight the bullies in all of our lives by understanding that God is a compassionate God and would never leave us nor forsake us. Let's stop promoting the power of super heros or other imaginary icons to make our children feel safe; rather, let's promote the power of God into our minds and into our children's minds so that no matter where we are, we always feel safe.

A Good Prayer Life

Mark 11:24

Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.

INSPIRATION

A good prayer life not only says the words, but believes in the word, trusts in the word, and has faith in the word. This is your year to stop believing in previous mistakes or shortcomings. It is time to believe that God will do it again for you for your good! Today, believe in your prayer, AMEN.

It Takes Courage

Mark 6:49-50

But when they saw him walking on the lake, they thought he was a ghost. They cried out, because they all saw him and were terrified. Immediately he spoke to them and said, "Take courage! It is I. Don't be afraid."

INSPIRATION

How we envision the way the Lord will bless us is not necessarily the way He will work it out. It is our job to be patient and know that His way is only for our good. This is the year to not be afraid of what God has in store for you; to not be afraid of how or when He approaches you with your purpose. This year, know that it is far time for you to use all the courage inside of you to advance and improve on you so that God can use you all the more. Here's to you and your goals in 2011!

All Things Are Possible

Luke 1:37

"For nothing is impossible with God."

INSPIRATION

We must come to a level in our spiritual relationship where we are not only talking the talk, but that we believe what we are saying. When we say that nothing is impossible for God, we must believe it for everything in our lives and that with God; these things will come to pass. While we are still in the season of fulfilling resolutions, don't let the promises you made to yourself just be lip service, but know that as long as you have God on your side, the impossible becomes possible.
