WE Can Do This Together!

James 3:16

Where you have envy and selfish ambition, there you find disorder and every evil practice.

The biggest threat against God's children moving forward together in unity are pride and a big ego. When your conversation with people tends to use the word, "I" more than "we", it is pretty safe to assume that selfishness has crept up into the relationship. When this happens, disorder is born and the ultimate goal of the group is lost. To avoid this from happening, we must be willing to let go some of our hang ups and listen to the opinions and advice of other people. Today, let's shut down our egos and practice the "we" approach to getting ahead.

Space With God

Psalm 18:19

He brought me out into a spacious place; he rescued me because he delighted in me.

Sometimes, when the noise level around us becomes too loud, we can't hear the voice of God. When this happens, He allows us to see the exit door necessary to leave our current space and walk into an area where only His voice can be heard. When you come into a place where you can stretch and breathe freely, know that it is God rescuing you from all the junk in your life, and bringing you to where you need to be, to hear His word. Today, find your space with God!

He Gives You Strength

Philippians 4:13

I can do everything through him who gives me strength.

You have strength because you have God; therefore, there are no limits to what you can achieve. This word doesn't offer hope for just some things; it promises that everything can be obtained as long as you remember who gave you the strength from the beginning. Today, remember, you are stronger than you realize so don't give up until your goal is accomplished.

The Course Has Changed

Jeremiah 1:5

[God says,] "Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations."

Don't be surprised that who you said you were going to be when you grew up is a different person now. This change occurs because God had a different plan before you were born. His plan of setting you apart from ordinary to extraordinary begins when you surrender everything to Him and allow Him to direct your path. Sure, the dream has been altered a little, but if you look back on how far you've come, aren't you glad He changed your course?

God AND I!

Ephesians 2:8-9

For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith -- and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God -- not by works, so that no one can boast.

To eliminate the theory that we obtain success by ourselves, we are reminded in this scripture, that God is always in control. Too often the "I" theory becomes prevalent in our daily activities when all along, it is God pushing us, lifting us, and seeing us through to make sure that every deadline to achieve our goals are met. Today, if you absolutely have to give yourself credit, make sure you say, "God AND I" did it!

Hope in Him

1 Peter 3:15

But in your hearts set apart Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect.

When you acknowledge what God has done for you; telling others about your faith in Him will flow easily. Too often we want to throw our beliefs or traditions on other people and just expect them to follow without giving clear instruction on how to follow Jesus. People who desire to obtain your level of happiness will watch you close just to see how you're doing so well; so present your faith with a joyful spirit and they too, will begin to reap the benefits of having hope in Him.

A Friend Like None Other

John 15:13

Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends.

How many of us can truly say that our friends will give up their life for us? The sacrifice Christ makes for you and I everyday is the greatest example of love and no friend on Earth can duplicate that gift. I'm so glad I am a friend of God!

Stand with Holy Boldness

1 Samuel 2:2

"There is no Rock like our God."

One of the definitions for a rock is, "A firm foundation or support." Life's struggles are usually derived from not realizing or remembering that God will not leave you or forsake you. We become afraid to stand up for ourselves and allow the enemy to create evil strongholds in our minds that hinder us from moving forward. Well, today, God wants you to believe in your foundation! Stand with Holy boldness with all your dreams and do not succumb to false prophesies that God that will not see you through. He is a rock like none other!

Well, at this crossroad, you also have an opportunity to seek guidance from God to make sure that whatever you choose is also pleasing in His eyesight. You Can’t Fool God!

1 Samuel 16:7

[God says,] "...The LORD does not look at the things man looks at. Man looks at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart."

A lot of time is spent on our outer appearance and very little time is spent on asking God to give us a clean heart. Know that, no matter what it looks like on the outside, if the heart isn't genuine, its counterfeit characteristic will penetrate through your exterior and expose what's really going on. Remember, you can fool some people some of the time, but you cannot fool God ANYTIME!

Just Stand!

Exodus 14:14

"The LORD will fight for you; you need only to be still."

"After you've done all you can, you just stand." Sometimes the fight doesn't require you to talk back, fight back or even react to what is going on all around you. You have to believe that your faith in God means that He shows up when you need Him to help you make a sound decision, and that with Him, you will be victorious! Tired of fighting, just stand!

It’s Tax Deadline Day

Romans 13:7

Give everyone what you owe him: If you owe taxes, pay taxes; if revenue, then revenue; if respect, then respect; if honor, then honor.

What doesn't belong to you just simply doesn't belong to you; including money you may owe on taxes. It's an unfortunate bill, but it is a required bill. Whether you have more taken out during the year to avoid paying at the end of the year, or waited until today to mail it off, God is pleased when we handle our finances responsibly. When we handle the small things in life well, He is simply preparing us on how to manage the bigger blessings that are coming our way. You have until 11:59 to manage that bill! Don't be late! J

It’s Ok to Change Your Mind

Romans 12:2

Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is -- his good, pleasing and perfect will.

Patterns can be dangerous if you cannot figure out when they are no longer good for you. If you find yourself making the same mistakes or not moving ahead towards your goals, chances are, your pattern has become stale. In order to change the pattern, you must change your mind set and then force everything else in you to change towards the direction your new mind is going. You'll notice the immediate difference when you don't feel the same level of stress your "old you" once held. Today, it's ok to change your mind!

In The Beginning

Matthew 7:24-25

"Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock."

Survival is dependent on how you started the course. If you want to go far and be successful, you have to start making smart decisions from the beginning. These decisions will create your foundation and your foundation will never move as long as you remain faithful to God and encouraged in the course He has designed for you. Today, stand firm on the rock!

Be Passionate

Deuteronomy 4:2-9

But if from there you seek the LORD your God, you will find him if you look for him with all your heart and with all your soul.

Vision does not start from your eyes. It starts from inside where your passion lives. Your passion to obtain success and grow further from where you are comes from your heart. Your eyes are only there to make sure you keep your focus on the goal; your passion gets the job done. Today, listen to where God rests in you…your heart and follow it.

He’s The Right Choice!

Joshua 24:15

"But if serving the LORD seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your forefathers served beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you are living. But as for me and my household, we will serve the LORD."

When you lay the law down in your house, make sure it sticks! No matter what others all around you are trying to persuade you to believe in, continue to tap into the choice which has always brought you through...Jesus and Jesus alone!

Moving Forward!

Philippians 3:13-14

One thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.

If you have already created your agenda for the day don't forget to add this: forget what or who let you down yesterday! You can't be victorious worrying about people and situations in your past. Today, forget all that has occurred and press towards your next level in God.

His Timing Is Perfect

Romans 5:3

We can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and trials, for we know that they are good for us -- they help us learn to endure.

Rejoice!  Even if God has delayed the answer you think you should receive, stay patient, stay encouraged, but most of all, stay in the race because the victory may be closer than you believe.  Remember, our timing is not God's timing and if you rush Him or give up before He is finished with you, you will be disappointed.

God Got This!

Luke 12:32

[Jesus says,] "Do not be afraid...."

The next step is only terrifying because you've never taken it before. The next relationship seems scary before you don't want to be hurt again. The next opportunity seems frightening because you don't want to fail; but on your next level, it will be you and God, so don't be afraid, God got this!

A Level of Commitment

Psalm 37:5-6

Commit your way to the LORD; trust in him and he will do this: He will make your righteousness shine like the dawn, the justice of your cause like the noonday sun.

Commitments in the beginning are very easy because the real work doesn't take effect until after the project is underway. Somewhere in the middle, you may begin to question yourself if you made the right decision or not; but, you arrived at that commitment for a reason, so you must see it through. Today, if you have lost sleep trying to get it done, keep on working. If you have lost some relationships to get the job done, keep on working. If you already see the light at the end of tunnel, keep on working because when it is all set and done, your hard work will be proven to have been worth it.

A New Heart; A New Start

Psalm 51:10

Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me.

Asking for a new heart comes with a new way of thinking, a new attitude, and a new purpose in life. It also means that whatever you gave up on before, it will not be able to defeat you again! A new you takes you with God to your next level so remain steadfast!
